Our Methodology

PeptideAU Guide is an independent comparison site for Australian research peptide suppliers. This page explains how we collect data, calculate scores, manage conflicts of interest, and keep information current.

Important: All products on this site are strictly for scientific research use only — not for human consumption. We do not endorse, promote, or facilitate the purchase of any product for personal use. Our comparisons are for research procurement purposes only.

Scoring Criteria

Each vendor receives an editorial score from 0–10 based on five equally weighted dimensions. Scores are determined by our research team based on publicly verifiable evidence — COAs, Trustpilot reviews, vendor websites, and independent reports.

Testing Standards (20%)

Max: 10/10

Quality and comprehensiveness of Certificate of Analysis (COA) testing. Highest scores require independent third-party multi-lab blind testing covering HPLC, LC-MS, peptide content (CLND), endotoxins (LAL), bioburden (TAMC/TYMC), and heavy metals — all to USP standards.

Purity (20%)

Max: 10/10

Stated HPLC purity percentage, verified against COA documentation. Vendors claiming >99% without independent COA evidence receive lower scores. Scores are penalised if purity claims lack third-party verification.

Australia Shipping (20%)

Max: 10/10

Domestic Australian warehouse availability, TGA regulatory compliance, AUD payment options, and shipping speed within Australia. Higher scores for vendors with domestic fulfillment and low free-shipping thresholds.

Value (20%)

Max: 10/10

Price-per-milligram benchmarked against testing quality. Vendors offering verified high-quality products at competitive AUD pricing score highest. Unusually low pricing without testing evidence is penalised.

Trust (20%)

Max: 10/10

Trustpilot score and review count, years in operation, public incident history (data breaches, fulfilment failures), and community reputation. Unresolved major incidents (e.g. GDPR breaches) result in significant penalties and a warning flag.

Warning Flags

A warning flag (⚠️) is applied to vendors with serious unresolved issues that could materially harm Australian researchers. This includes:

  • Documented GDPR data breaches with failure to notify affected users within 72 hours
  • Widespread unresolved fulfilment failures or non-delivery reports
  • Fraudulent COA documentation
  • Regulatory enforcement actions resulting in product seizures

Warning flags are reviewed regularly and removed when the underlying issue has been publicly resolved and verified. Flagged vendors are shown with red row backgrounds in the comparison table and excluded from homepage recommendations.

Data Sources

Vendor websites: Pricing, catalog, COA samples, shipping policies, and terms of service reviewed directly.
Trustpilot: Scores and review counts scraped or verified manually. Only verified reviews are considered. We note the review count alongside scores to distinguish high-confidence from low-confidence ratings.
COA documentation: Sample COAs reviewed for methodology completeness. We note whether testing is in-house or third-party, whether labs are named, and whether batch-level traceability exists.
Community reports: Research communities (Reddit, forums, Discord servers) monitored for emerging fulfilment or quality issues. Community reports require corroboration before influencing scores.
Regulatory filings: Publicly available TGA and regulatory authority records reviewed where relevant.

Affiliate Disclosure & Independence

PeptideAU Guide earns revenue through affiliate commissions when users click our links and make purchases. This is how we fund independent research. Our editorial rankings are determined independently of affiliate relationships:

  • Scores are calculated before affiliate status is considered
  • Vendors without affiliate programs are ranked on their merits regardless of monetisation
  • All affiliate links use rel="nofollow sponsored" per Google requirements

We do not accept paid placements, sponsored reviews, or “guaranteed top ranking” arrangements from vendors. If you believe a ranking is inaccurate, contact us with evidence and we will investigate.

Update Schedule

Regular reviews

Vendor scores and data are reviewed quarterly, or immediately following significant events (new vendor launch, documented incident, regulatory change).

Breaking updates

We aim to publish breaking updates within 48–72 hours of a significant event. Major vendor events are documented within this window.

New vendors

New Australian vendors are considered for inclusion after a minimum of 6 months of operation and at least 50 verified Trustpilot reviews, unless exceptional evidence of quality warrants earlier inclusion.

Warning flag removal

Warning flags are only removed when the underlying incident has been publicly resolved, verified, and corroborated by affected customer reports.

About PeptideAU Guide

PeptideAU Guide was created to fill a specific gap: no independent Australia-focused peptide supplier comparison site existed in 2025–2026. Australian researchers needed a focused, independent comparison source with domestic shipping data and COA depth comparisons.

The site is operated by an independent editorial team. We are not affiliated with any single vendor. All opinions are our own based on publicly verifiable evidence. For questions about our methodology, contact us via the footer link.
